“Topping Out” Ceremony Scheduled For New Hotel
August 24 • 10:00am • Coushatta Casino Valet Parking Lot
August 22, 2011
Kinder, LA––Members of the Coushatta Tribal Council, Coushatta Casino General Manager Conrad Granito, and representatives from DreamCatcher™ Hotels, Hnedak Bobo Group, HOAR Program Management, and Flintco, LLC, will participate in a “topping out” ceremony on August 24 at 10:00am in the casino valet parking lot. “Topping out” signifies reaching the high-point of the structure as well as the approximate halfway point to the project’s completion. In celebration, a traditional evergreen tree will be hoisted to the top of the 7-story building.
The new 401-room hotel with 18 luxurious suites is the resort’s newest expansion. It is designated as completely “non-smoking” for guests’ comfort and will include a lobby bar, coffeehouse café, and retail shop, with resort-style amenities. Complementing the standard features, each room will include a custom-designed DreamCatcher™ Bed with mattress by Simmons® Beautyrest®, custom-designed linens by Valley Forge®, spa-inspired bath fixtures by KOHLER®, and a state-of-the-art 37” Panasonic® LCD flatscreen television.
The hotel will be connected to the casino on the north side of the property, just steps away from the casino floor. This expansion increases capacity at Coushatta Casino Resort to over 950 rooms and creates additional employment opportunities for the region. The hotel is scheduled to open in mid-2012.
The ritual of “topping out” has centuries-old origins. Ancient practices have been replaced with the hoisting of an evergreen tree to the top of a newly completed structure. While there remains a great deal of work to be done to complete the structure, “topping out” represents the successful attainment of its highest point.
