Coushatta Casino Resort’s Culinary Competition Team captured five awards at the 17th Annual Soiree Royale Culinary Competition on September 14, 2015 at Evangeline Downs Event Center. Congratulations to Chef James Hamilton, Chef Rodrick James, Chef Matt Hofmann, Chef Amanda Johnson, Chef Eric Johnson, Chef Drew Parish, Sparky Harris, Amanda Bastian, Becky Johnson, Eric Tezeno, and Nate Allan, and decorating team of Marjorie Bernard, Jeremy Poe, and Tina Dupont.

Chef Amanda Johnson was awarded Best in Show in the Dessert category, and won 1st place in Desserts for her Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheese Cake. Chef Matt Hofmann captured 1st place in Chocolate Desserts for his Chocolate Trio with Ribbon Sponge dessert. Chef James Hamilton was awarded 1st place in the Appetizer category for his Fried Seafood Pasta with Lemon Coolly. The casino’s decorating team placed 2nd for Best Decorated Booth.
