Coushatta Casino Resort Partners with United Way to Provide Flood Disaster Relief for Victims of “No-Name” Storm

Massive, Statewide Flooding Event Affects Hundreds of Thousands Across South Louisiana

KINDER, LA––On Friday, September 2, several casino staff members and members of the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana traveled to the United Way distribution center in Baton Rouge with a 20-foot trailer of supplies and a truckload of water and juices to aid flood evacuees. Casino associates partnered with United Way to collect, sort, and pack household, personal hygiene, and other necessary items for distribution to displaced victims. A week-long rain event in August caused widespread flooding and displaced hundreds of thousands of residents across the state. Rescue and relief efforts are ongoing.
