January 24, 2018
KINDER, LA––Country music legends Mickey Gilley & Johnny Lee will share the stage at Coushatta Casino Resort’s Pavilion on Saturday, February 24, in their Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour. Doors open at 6:30pm. Show starts at 8pm. Tickets are on sale at Ticketmaster.com and at Coushatta Box Office, where Advantage Club members receive a $10 discount on national headliner concert tickets. Gilley’s and Lee’s hit songs were the inspiration for the mega-hit movie Urban Cowboy that starred John Travolta and Deborah Winger.
Gilley was closely associated with the urban cowboy movement. He helped create Gilley’s Club, “the world’s largest honky-tonk” and the forerunner of Hard Rock Café and other themed restaurants that are so popular today. The 1980 film Urban Cowboy was filmed on location at Gilley’s Club.
Gilley has recorded 16 No. 1 hits including “Room Full of Roses,” “Stand By Me,” “True Love Ways” and “You Don’t Know Me,” and a total of 39 Top Ten hits. Lee’s No. 1 smash hit, “Lookin’ for Love,” was the signature song of the Urban Cowboy soundtrack.
“Lookin’ for Love” was Lee’s first Gold record. He followed that more No. 1 hits: “Bet Your Heart on Me,” and “You Could’ve Heard a Heart Break.” His Top Ten hits include “Cherokee Fiddle” (also on the Urban Cowboy soundtrack), “Sounds Like Love” and “Hey Bartender.”
Coushatta Casino Resort is located in Kinder, Louisiana on Highway 165 (I-10, exit 44), featuring three hotels and thousands of slots and table games including live poker, live bingo, off-track betting and a sportsbook. Call (800) 584-7263 or visit www.ccrla.com for more information.
