October 25, 2018
KINDER, LA––During September 2018, Coushatta Casino Resort associates participated in a fundraiser to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and promote awareness of childhood cancer. Casino associates who wished to donate had the option to purchase specially designed t-shirts and wear as part of their uniform on designated days throughout the month.
Brittni Blankenship, Sr. Regional Development Representative for St. Jude’s, accepted the $10,000 check from Coushatta Tribal Chairman David Sickey and Coushatta Casino Resort General Manager Scott Sirois. They were joined by Coushatta Tribal Councilmembers Loretta Williams, Crystal Williams, Kevin Sickey and Jonathan Cernek, as well as Special Casino Programs Coordinator Nakia Hutchins, whose son Haydn McCoy received treatment at St. Jude’s Hospital.
Ms. Blankenship commented, “Thank you to Coushatta Casino Resort and all the amazing employees who work there for raising $10,000 for the kids of St. Jude. Thanks to your generosity, St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.”
Chairman Sickey stated, “There is never a question in our minds about giving to, partnering with, or helping out our dear friends at St. Jude’s. They are an organization with a mission of the highest order. They save the lives of our children. They are our best possible future. It’s an honor to stand with them and our Coushatta Casino Resort family.”
