Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana and Coushatta Casino Resort Host Donations Drive to Benefit Victims of Hurricane Ida
September 23, 2021
KINDER, LA––During September 2021, Coushatta Casino Resort, owned and operated by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana, hosted a donations drive to benefit victims of Hurricane Ida in hardest hit Terrebonne, Lafourche, St. Mary, and Assumption parishes. Through generosity and community spirit, Coushatta tribal and casino associates raised $1,810 and gathered eight pallets of supplies including bottled water, non-perishable food, cleaning supplies and personal hygiene items.
With an escort by members of the Coushatta Tribal Police Force, casino services delivered the donations to the Terrebonne Churches United Food Bank, an affiliate of United Way, in the Houma, Louisiana area on Wednesday, September 22, as well as prepared and served approximately 800 hot meals to those present. The casino’s award-winning culinary team was joined by associate volunteers from Organizational Development and Hospitality departments who prepared and served the food and beverages, and helped distribute the supplies.
Coushatta Casino Resort is located in Kinder, Louisiana on Highway 165 (I-10, exit 44), featuring three hotels and thousands of slots and table games including live poker, live bingo, off-track betting and a sportsbook. Call (800) 584-7263 or visit www.ccrla.com for more information.
