The Notah Begay III Junior Golf National Championship is open to boys and girls competing in one of the four age categories: Boys 14-18, Girls 14-18, Boys 13 & Under, and Girls 13 & Under. Players from around the country have qualified to be one of the 150 golfers who will compete to be the champion within their division. These top boys and girls advanced through their respective regional qualifiers and will compete in this prestigious event, giving them a unique opportunity to display their golf skills in a nationwide televised platform that will air December 8 on Golf Channel, in prime time from 7pm to 9pm EST. These finalists will undoubtedly be scrutinized by college coaches nationwide. In total, thousands of junior golfers competed for the chance to play at Coushatta in November.
The three-day event will be held at Koasati Pines at Coushatta, ranked the #18 golf course in the entire United States on Golf Advisor’s® “Golfer’s Choice Top 50 US Courses” list as well as the #1 spot on “Best Golf Course in Louisiana.” It features multiple approaches on three holes, six sets of tees to engage golfers at all skill levels, pristine greens and beautiful fairways in a stunning 18-hole par 72 championship layout on the 7,617 yard course. Course designer Kevin Tucker challenged golfers with multiple approaches to several holes, but GPS enabled carts track yardage and offer course tips to help plan each shot. Koasati Pines is part of Coushatta Casino Resort, owned and operated by the Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana.
