George Foreman III Makes Pro Debut in ‘Family Tradition’ Professional Boxing Card Saturday, June 6, at Coushatta Casino Resort

June 1, 2009

Kinder, LA—Coushatta Casino Resort will host a spectacular night of professional boxing June 6 in The Pavilion at Coushatta, showcasing the pro debut of George Foreman III. Tickets available at Ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, and casino box office.

If the adage stating the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree is, indeed, true, then young George Foreman III is in for a long and illustrious career as a professional boxer. However, before securing a spot in the Hall of Fame, Foreman needs to accomplish a few things. And the first goal is to get a win in his pro debut. The four-round heavyweight bout, presented by Real Fights, Inc., is the special attraction on the 10-bout professional boxing card dubbed, appropriately enough, “Family Tradition.”

Foreman has been preparing for this day, for this fight, for more than one and one-half years. It was then, during 2007, that he first began to train to be a boxer. Prior to that, Foreman graduated from Rice University in his hometown of Houston, Texas. But considering his size—he’s 6-foot-5-inches and weighs a solid 240 pounds—family ties and lifetime exposure to boxing, it seems almost natural Foreman would try his hand, or fists, at the sport. And so he will, against Clyde Weaver, June 6.

The 10-bout card, which includes two women’s bouts, takes place in The Pavilion at Coushatta and starts at 7:30 p.m. (Central) with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. Tickets, priced at $20, $40 and $65, are available through Ticketmaster and the casino box office. Box office hours are 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday and closed Monday-Tuesday; the box office telephone number is 800-584-7263.

Coushatta Casino Resort is located in Kinder, Louisiana on Highway 165 (I-10, exit 44), featuring three hotels and thousands of slots and table games including live poker, live bingo, off-track betting and a sportsbook. Call (800) 584-7263 or visit www.ccrla.com for more information.
